ABOUT BIODIVERSITY OF BHUBANESWAR
Odisha's unique location in Peninsular India has blessed it with an interesting assemblage of floral and faunal diversity. Bhubaneswar is the capital city of Odisha and one of the cleanest cities of India, having an area of 422 km2. The population here according to the 2011 census is about 8.38 lakhs with a density of 2131 persons/km2. The city is endowed with lots of vegetation including avenue plantation, social forestry and parks, besides these, two wildlife sanctuaries i.e., Chandaka and Nandankanan Wildlife Sanctuary are present adjacent to this city and they are considered as lungs of the city. There are several parks and campuses in the city which has large vegetation cover and provide conducive environment for significant biodiversity.
